About
St Augustines, Hyde Park
As part of our heritage scaffolding services, we carry out various projects on churches around the country. St Augustine’s Wrangthorn is our largest and most complex church scaffold project to date. We needed to build the scaffold to provide access for various trades including roofers, lime pointers and joiners.
The roof was damaged in many areas, and all of the ridges needed rebedding and repointing. Along with large areas of lime pointing that needed to be replaced, the whole of the bell tower was to be repointed from the floor up to the spire. As part of the requirement of most heritage buildings, we were required to add steel sheet cladding 4m high around the entire scaffold to prevent theft.
