Kirkstall Forge
Kirkstall Forge, located less than a 10 minute drive from Leeds City Centre, was a large and exciting project for MJM Scaffolding. Home to many offices, facilities and houses, Kirkstall Forge aims to create a sustainable community.
About
Kirkstall Forge, Leeds
We were thrilled to receive the exciting news that we would be providing our scaffolding services for the construction of Kirkstall Forge. Due to the nature of this project, there were a diverse range of services we were able to provide.
We fitted debris netting to the outside of the scaffolding with a sprinkler system along the top. The sprinklers constantly sprinkle a strong and pleasant fragrance down the netting, so the working office block on the other side wasn’t affected by the pungent smell coming from the site as the earth moved. In addition to this, the scaffolding needed a drawing to keep it upright as it was fully exposed to the elements and higher than what you could do with an untied scaffolding.
Finally, we erected a bridge scaffold with a staircase either side to provide safe access for site staff across a busy roadway created on site for large earthmoving machinery. Our scaffolding started as edge protection for the teams building the retaining wall, but was later adapted to be a fully accessible working platform.
